Atsuko Imai was born in Tokyo, Japan.
She graduated from the Tokyo Metropolitan Senior High School of Fine Arts (major in Japanese painting) and from the University of Arts of Musashino Tokyo (major in design).
After a first experience in an Advertising Agency, she became a freelance illustrator and worked for several companies and created various publicity campaign elements (Posters, advertisements in magazines and newspapers).
She moved to France in 1990, and since then presents her work in numerous exhibitions in both Paris and Tokyo.
